Adorable Tucker

This is my niece's sweet dog Tucker (and Riley's real brother). This picture was taken on Christmas Eve. He is just too sweet! I used some patterned paper from Basic Grey with a neat background and thought I'd make it into a page about him. It's hard to tell how things coordinate since the lighting was awful when I took this pic. Click for a closer look. I colored all the chipboard using my sponge daubers and SU! craft inks. The other papers are from SU!, except the green which is made by Bazzill. Lastly, I added that famous faux stitching with my white gel pen. Gotta love faux stitching! The title is created using tiny alpha stickers from Making Memories. Thanks for stopping by!

Card from Hospice

No, I don't know anyone personally in Hospice care right now. This card was mailed to the office where I work. They were simply thanking our office for outstanding care after a mutual patient passed away. The card was posted on our bulletin board in the break room. After two weeks, things are removed. So, I snagged it for the idea and thought I'd share it here. Love the colors and layout! The colors are creamy caramel, old olive and pumpkin pie. The large background stamp is called Medallion. Not sure what set the dragonfly is from, but oh well.

Rotten Rascal

With a title like Rotten Rascal, surely you knew this was going to be about Riley. ha ha You'll have to click the pic to see it bigger. In the first pic, he has a piece of mulch in his mouth and it looks like he's sassing me by saying "ha, yeah, I've got mulch...try to catch me, Momma!". In the second pic, I caught him with Jack's fur in his mouth after he had fought a good fight and won! Turkey! Those pics are from Summer '09 when his fur was a bit darker. I incorporated the wood grain look using wood grain paper, wood grain alpha stickers and....
I covered a giant "r" with Stampin' Up! wood sheets. They are the coolest things. I traced the shape and cut it out, then glued it to the chipboard letter. Lastly, I inked the edges and added some brown twine to add texture and depth. You can also punch shapes out of the wood sheets or run it through your Big Shot or Cuttlebug using shaped dies.
I tore an oval from the top layer of patterned paper, then added journaling to the tan piece. Believe it or not, that is what I added last. I was so undecided on how to add journaling to the page and didn't want to add a boring oval adhered to the top layer, so.....TAH DAH...torn paper journaling was born! ha I like how more of the wood grain pattern peeks out on the rolled edges, too. I also LOVE happy scrappin' accidents.

Ride

Sorry the top pic is blurry. Haste makes waste, I guess. Click on the pic to see the details. I used flat shiny silver metal bling on the photo corners, chipboard letters, arrows punched out of coordinating paper and made a fun journaling circle. I used coordinating papers from American Crafts that I got on clearance at Archivers. It had a driving theme. Perfect! I wanted to document the first time Jack actually enjoyed riding in the car. Now he likes to ride!
Here's a somewhat dark, yet clear pic of the journaling. Tell me, oh you grammar queens....Should it be "took him and Riley" or "took he and Riley" as I have written. It doesn't sound right to me. *sigh* Somedays I wonder about myself. I think I get more hick (or dumber) the older I get and cain't tawk riiiiight!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope to share more this weekend when I have more time to post. Going scrappin' Friday from 6pm-2am! Woot Woot! Love it!

For Coby

My best friend's husband has a birthday this weekend and I totally forgot to mail a card! So, I made this tonight and thought I'd share. The watercoloring looks horrible in these pics. Oh well. It's prettier in person. Again, poor basement photography. Ay, ay, ay......... *sigh* And the dark brown circle looks like it doesn't match. I really need summer to come so I have more natural light to work with for taking pics after work. C'mon summer! C'mon!!!
I sewed on the button to keep it more secure. This booger made the card bulky so I added extra postage and padded it with bubble wrap inside.
Ok, minus the not-so-attractive ME wearing pajamas and a headband in this picture....isn't Riley cute coming up from the basement "riding" in the basket of towels? He didn't know what to think, but also didn't try to jump out. It's the little things in life I laugh about. LOL! har har I just love his "ok-dad-hurry-up-and-take-the-picture-so-I-can-get-out-of-here" crooked smile! :)

Simple Cards

Sometimes I need several cards in a short amount of time. I will come up with a simple design and mass produce so I can get them in the mail. For the green one, I made some as thank yous and some for birthdays. The brown ones are all thank yous. Now I have some in my stash, but most went to those people who gave us something at Christmastime. Again, excuse the not-so-great lighting. It just doesn't do the colors of these green cards justice. *sigh* Oh well.

I used a clear glitter pen to add some shimmery detail. I like glitter that stays put! *wink*
Thank you, thank you very much...as Elvis would say. Thanks for stopping by!

Lil' Buckeye

When Riley was tiny, he used to wear a little scarlet and gray jacket to stay warm. Now over a year later, I created a page about my Lil' Buckeye. Hard to imagine he was that tiny and had all that dark hair. His hair is so light now and he weighs a whopping 10 pounds! He's so precious. (click on pictures to see details up close) Please ignore my terrible lighting and photography for the next few days. I tried to take pics in the basement and dodge shadowing, but...I guess it is better to share what I can regardless of the lighting. At least I am posting, right? (Hi, mom! ha ha)
Mom gave me this round journaling block from Jenni Bowlin. I added tiny red rub-on letters and journaled with a pen that matched the stripe in my patterned paper.
I decided to add more little rub-on mini titles to some of the photos. I got the idea for the "shoelace" eyelet thing just because he looked all sporty in his jacket and the tiny tennis balls showed in the pics. Mr. Sporty=tennis shoes=eyelet idea, I guess. That's how my brain processed it anyway. ha
Scored this deal at Target this weekend. Two small punches for $8. They had a few different styles. Just wanted to share the FYI in case you like small punches and "need" to add some to your collection. *wink*
On Facebook last week, everyone was sharing a photo of themselves way back when. This is the one I chose. I am so blessed to have had a happy childhood, always have known I was loved and was a very happy little child. I was painfully shy, but eventually outgrew that after college. Now I can talk to strangers in a store. ha This picture was taken in front of the fireplace in my childhood home in Kentucky. I loved that doll. Her name was Pink Baby. Her face would turn and the doll had three different expressions. My sister had it, then I got it. I think she's still in my parents' basement. Ah....what a great memory of a great time when I was a wee tot. :)

Happy 2010

It's a good thing I don't do resolutions for the new year. If I had to make one, it should be to be a better blogger. I haven't been real bloggy lately. Sorry. I do have stuff to share, but that would mean taking pictures of it, uploading it to my computer and preparing posts for all you to see. *hangs head low in shame* I don't know why I haven't been better about doing this, but like a broken record I'll say...

Sorry. I'll show some goodies soon. NO, really I will. Be patient. It's gonna get done. *sigh* I just don't know where my blogging mojo went....to Mars, perhaps? *sigh*

Ok, so kick me. Happy 2010, anyway!!!! :) xoxoxoxoxo
