Happy

...Forgive the poor photography. I took several pictures in a hurry. Hope you can see the details: hand-stitching on the big heart, paper piercing in each corner of the page, etc. Click the picture for a closer look. The journaling says: "A quiet little girl with such a sweet smile. Always happy because I knew I was loved. Natalie" Once I figure out when the picture was taken, I will add a date. I am blessed to have very loving parents who never made me feel less than adored! That's part of the reason I am a happy person today! Love you, mom and dad! :)

Bravo Burgundy Celebrate

The base cardstock is one of SU!'s retiring(NOT!) colors, Bravo Burgundy. I mixed it with patterned paper from Basic Grey. I love this color combo. One of my favorite processes in creating is finding items in my stash that work wonderfully together.

My bad....I thought it was retiring....Bravo Burgundy lives on! hee hee

Glittery Happy Birthday

I took pictures of 19 different projects to share with all of you. I will slowly get them uploaded and on here. This is a birthday card I made this past week. The journaling card is from My Minds Eye, the card is from a pack at JoAnn's, the edge punch is from EK Success, stamps by SU! and the butterfly and glittery paper is also from JoAnn's. I can't remember brands on those items. Click either pic for a closer look. I loved how this one turned out. It is so soft and serene in person. Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day 2010

Daddy's card...I used a strip of real zipper trim from JoAnn's. It is perfect as it is Kraft color and matches the SU! Kraft cardstock. The card is 4 1/4"x12", scored at 3" from one end and 4" from the other. I ran the smaller flap through the Cuttlebug to give it a neat texture. I added a special closure to mimic a closure on an office envelope. To open the card, he had to unwrap the linen thread.
Here's a closer look at the closure. I simply punched out patterned paper using a 1/2" circle punch and adhered them to the flaps. I punched holes using my Crop-a-Dile and inserted "manly" brads. I wrapped one end of the linen thread tightly around the brad on the left and wound it around in a criss-cross to secure the card.

Mom wanted a picture with Charles and Daddy. This is her just 11 days after total left knee replacement. She got a shorter haircut so it would be easier while she recovers. She is doing wonderfully, by the way!
My mom's mom Bernice. She is 88 and my last living grandparent. :)
My sister and her new boyfriend Phil. I think he's about as goofy as I am. He is hilarious!
Like I was saying....you know there has to be one nut in the bunch....guess that's ME!
Weight Watchers Update:
I finally blasted past my plateau. I lost 3.8 this week for a grand total of 37.2! I am that much closer to losing my goal of 50 pounds! I think I can....I think I can....nope, I KNOW I WILL!

Howdy!

Yep, it's me. Gosh, this past week or so has gone by so fast! Hmm...let's see...what have I been up to? Well, on Saturday the 5th we scrapbooked at Connie's. So much fun! Then, on Wednesday the 9th my mom had a total left knee replacement. In between all that, I've been working, weeding, exercising and doing the usual stuff. Don't faint when I tell you that my scrapbook bags are still in the kitchen. Remember I said I scrapped at Connie's on the 5th? Oh my! Guess I better get this puppy whipped into shape. I need to photograph, upload and share some pictures of things I've made. And, I think I need to take those bags downstairs now. Just checking in....see ya soon!

Izabella

My mom needed a baby card for a friend. Here's another girly, glittery card I made on Monday. It looks way cuter in person with all the bling and delicate details.
We have a sock thief in our house. If I am sorting laundry, see Riley by me one minute and then the next minute he is gone...well, he most likely stole a sock. One afternoon, he ran and ran with a sock and then I realized he was TOO QUIET. I found him sleeping on the spare bed with the sock. Too cute! Kevin must have been home, because there is his truck parked on the street. Shh...don't tell Daddy....that's his sock in the picture. ha ha I have a blanket over the duvet cover on the spare bed, since laying by that window is their favorite hangout. :) I tell ya, these dogs make me smile.

Abigail

For the last several months, I have slowly been making cards that I sell to our nurse practitioner at work. She wanted b-day cards for all her family members, etc. On Monday, I made this one for her middle granddaughter, Abigail. Gotta love the girly look of glittery letters!
I was telling a friend the other day that God speaks to me in the neatest ways and sometimes through what others would think are the silliest of things. Look what I found as I chopped onions the other day for my salad. At the center of the onion was a tiny little open heart shape. I'd say God grew it with love just for me to see, huh? What a blessing to find His love even in an onion. :)
