Mom & Me

I created this layout about my mom and I. The pictures are from March 2010, when we were heading to the Craft Farm for a fun weekend getaway. Click on the picture to see all the details....the stitched corners and title block, the journaling, my mom kissing my cheek in the smaller picture, the textured ribbon, the various paper flowers with button centers, etc. The picture is kind of crooked and it makes the page look crooked, but Kraft cardstock is the 12x12 base, with the scalloped/patterned paper adhered over that. I added the stitched corners to "ground" the Kraft piece and then added all kinds of texture, color, etc. to jazz it all up. It's funky, but I like it.
I had all intentions of entering the Ashland County Fair again this year. This layout would have been one of my three entries. However, I won't be doing that. My Kentucky/Tennessee vacation is during fair time and I won't be here to take the entries to the building. I will also miss half of fair week, so I decided to skip it. I would have been so proud to enter this page as it means a lot to have such a great relationship with my mom. I {heart} my mom! :)
I am REALLY behind with sharing layouts, ideas, etc. Life happens sometimes and maybe some day I'll get caught up. This month has flown by! I was trying to figure out what all has been happening since I posted here last. Well, I checked my calendar to find out. The main thing was that Kevin had a terrible time with his new medication. Between ER visits and one night in the hospital, the last two weeks have really been about me focusing on taking care of him. Aside from that, throw in working full time and exercising most every day, well....August flew by! Kevin is doing better, I am still exercising and losing a bit more weight, etc. I am looking forward to traveling to KY for my 20-year class reunion and visiting some dear friends along the way. I can feel the air changing and have seen a few crinkled, fallen leaves in the yard. Fall is just around the corner. Hoping you and yours is having a blessed day! Thanks for stopping by!
