Easter 2010

I must have forgotten to post anything about our family Easter celebration. Here's a few quick pictures from the day.
My family (minus one niece and my nephew) after church in Worthington, OH. You can tell it was sunny....three guys with darkened lenses. LOL! The rest of us squinted.
My mom's birthday is April 4th, so it fell on Easter this year. She brought down a cake from the local Hawkins bakery. Seriously, their cake is my fav. Ooh, yeah!
Josh's birthday is April 1st, so we tend to celebrate both birthdays together. He got this fun cake from his fav cake shop in Columbus. Easter was a day filled with celebrations this year!
UPDATE: At Weight Watchers tonight, I was down 2.8 for the week, making a grand total lost of 32 pounds! Thank you, Lord! :)

Ladybugs

Here's another card I made for my co-worker to buy. Her youngest granddaughter Maggie will get this one. I used some fun patterned paper as the inspiration. I used circle punches to create a matching ladybug and added some Stickles glitter for some fun shimmer! I love to personalize kids' cards, because I know how special I felt as a child when I received something with my name on it. The small pink strip of paper is the pattern on the back of the ladybug paper. I love double-sided papers as you get a coordinating pattern to use however you like. See the white gel pen dots and the different way I tied the ribbon? Just wanted to add something different. This is a standard 4 1/4"x 5 1/2" card, but I gave her a larger envelope that wouldn't ruin the ribbon. Do you like? I was tickled with how it turned out and sure hope it makes Maggie smile. I made an identical card for my best friend's daughter, Lauren. Today is her 8th birthday! So sad to think I haven't visited Tennessee in 8 years...I last saw her when she was 5 weeks old! *sniffle* I can't wait to travel south in September. I have a lot of hugs to give Christie and her family. I have missed them so much. Thank goodness for internet and phone to keep in touch!
Here's a closer look at the shimmer. It added just the right finishing touch!
UPDATE
All crafting aside...I have some serious praises to pass along. In a nutshell....MY HUSBAND GOT A NEW JOB! He is working at the local family-owned Home Hardware. You can see more about the new place HERE. More importantly, I must tell you one HUGE detail in this news. Upon filing Kevin's unemployment claim for last week, I noticed he had $170.00 in benefits left before having to file an extension. God's timing in him securing a new job proves yet again that God is in control of every detail of life...big and small. It is no coincidence he got the job last week. No coincidence at all. I am in awe of how God works in our lives. He provides even when we think we can't do it anymore. He loves us beyond measure. Lord, I am in awe of You!
Lastly, I have to update you on my weight loss. Again, I can't do this without God and the support of my precious family. On Thursday, I weighed the lowest I have in over ten years. How amazing is that? I can't wait to see what the final loss is at weigh-in Monday night at Weight Watchers. Then, I'll have to report my weekly and total losses when I update on here again. I have also noticed a huge change in my body this week. I am losing inches and it feels great! I can't wait to discover a thinner me as I continue on this difficult journey of weight loss. I am determined to never go back to the weight I was when I started Weight Watchers. Wow! Thank you, Lord!
My heart is overflowing with an attitude of gratitude! It's all because of God! No questions asked. :)

Butterflies

Hello! A quick post as I'm heading out the door to day two of a fun scrapbooking crop. Wanted to share this card I had made at Holly's card night in March. Love all the colors and these adorable die-cut butterflies. Doesn't it all just make you smile? I home it made Kevin's grandma smile, as this is the one I mailed to her for her birthday. Have a great day!

Easter Cards 2010

This is Connie's Easter card. All I can say is that it totally rocks! Wow! So many details!
Don't you want to touch all the great details: heat embossed bunny, glittery paper, ric rac, textured cardstock, embossed cardstock. Wow!
Then, my VERY SIMPLE design. The lighting doesn't really show the colors well and quiet frankly, I am too lazy right now to retake the pictures. It takes too long to upload on my dinosaur computer. It's basically three colors of cardstock, a bunny die-cut, some stamped words and loose glitter applied to Scor-Tape. If you don't know about Scor-Tape....look it up on the internet. You get a ton on a roll for way cheap! The backing is made of paper and you can even tear it! Easy peasy! Just apply it where you want it, pull of the paper backing to reveal the sticky and add some glittery yum-yum! Oh and beware: loose glitter will follow you around the house. When I made these on Wednesday, I even found glitter in my scalp when I went to wash my face at night. Oh, brother! ha The card "needed" something, so I opted for glitter. I was happy with the detail, but now my house sparkles. That is why I get glitterphobic, people. It goes everywhere. LOL!
Easter reminds me of the incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I love this verse:
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
Wow!

Miscellaneous

I got this adorable card from Connie when we returned from the Craft Farm in March.
Joan sent this lovely card to my dad in February after his heart attack. I love the combo of using Versamark ink and black ink.
Here's a close-up of the sentiment. Love those little gold stud details on the ends. Self-stick bling rocks!
I made this card for my co-worker to give to her granddaughter. After I made it, I was a bit disappointed that the "t" in this font on the Cricut looked like an "r". Looks like BERhany, instead of Bethany. Kathy still loved it and that's all that mattered. She wanted pink and glitter details. The card base is white and when you close the card the punched detail on the end would have white showing through. I simply took this pic with black cardstock behind it so you can see the details better.
For all you glitter lovers, do you want to lick this shiny glitterfest? hee hee I used Stickles in various colors to do this, plus added some purple bling stones.
Now that Spring has arrived here, the boys are glued to the open windows. The thing is...there are no screens in yet so I can only crack the windows. This one is near the spare bed, so they lay there with their noses hanging out...watching traffic and sniffing out squirrels. haha OH and they do this DAY...
....AND NIGHT! So funny. Once I have the screens back in, they won't have to hunch down to sniff. They'll get a full-face breeze of luscious spring smells in their face. :)
The other lookout is the ottoman by the front picture window. As you can see, the woodwork is destroyed! Oh well. I don't have my house on the market, nor do we plan to move anytime soon, so... This is Jack in his "guard dog" stance....and....
...in his "relaxin" position. Gotta love how his paws are stretched out to rest on the window ledge.
Everyone have a happy Saturday! Thanks for stopping by!
