Night of Navy Trio

Happy Tuesday to all of you! I spent Monday night cleaning like a mad woman since I didn't do much this weekend. (I was so whooped from my crazy allergies.) The good news is the Allegra rep was in today and I'm stocked up with my allergy meds again! Yeah! Free meds is just one of the many perks/blessings of working in a medical office!

Here are the three cards I made using Night of Navy, Real Red and Green Galore as the main colors. The cards are 4x4. The idea all started with this fun felt ribbon my mom gave me. Thanks again, Mom! Love that you and dad always share and taught me to be a sharing person, too!

Barely Banana Trio

I had Barely Banana in my head for some reason before I made these three 4x4 cards. I grabbed a 12x12 sheet of the luscious textured cardstock! Yum! I had a pretty productive Sunday afternoon/evening stamping time. I recently rearranged my main table and some of the things within my craft area. It has really helped having several things within reach. I did watercoloring, heat embossing and used the Stamp-a-ma-jig several times on Sunday. I feel much more at ease with how things are arranged. Guess MOJO liked it, too. LOL Now, if I could just get Macy to lay about a foot away from the chair wheels. She likes to be touching them for fear she might miss something if her momma moves. Goofy kid.

I stamped the image onto watercolor paper using Timber Brown Staz-On. I used my AquaPainter to color the image. It's hard to see, but I added crystal Stickles to the shell. The base cardstock is Groovy Guava...one of last year's In Color colors. The stamped piece is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I eliminated the Groovy Guava and made this card more masculine. I covered the chipboard tag with patterned paper, then heat embossed the leaf image. The other patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Archaic collection. I inked the edges of everything and added the sentiment with Timber Brown Staz-On. It is so straight since I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for precise placement. I love that tool!!! The base cardstock is Kraft. I used my Crop-a-Dile to add the large eyelets to the chipboard tag.

My co-worker let me borrow her Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge and I cut out this cute flower border. It was the perfect size for a 4x4 card. The main image is stamped on watercolor paper using Timber Brown Staz-On, then colored using my AquaPainter. It is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sentiment along the left side. The original stamp has the words on four lines. See, I love that Stamp-a-ma-jig! It allows me to use my sentiments as I need them, not just as they come on the rubber. The bling stones are a neat lighter brownish color. They look black in the pic.

Tune in tomorrow for my other Trio using Night of Navy, Green Galore and Real Red as the three main colors. It all started with one piece of funky felt ribbon that mom had given me. I have several "treasures" in my stash from loved ones. I am so blessed!

Happy Anniversary

Double-sided patterned paper came in handy when I made this card today. One side is the funky floral print. The reverse is a light green distressed pattern. I ran the light green piece through the Cuttlebug for the fun dotted background. I covered the chipboard flower and sanded the edges. I inked the edge of the entire card, the raised dots, the flower petals and the sentiment pieces. The base cardstock is Sage Shadow from SU!. I added some buttons, the stamped sentiment and some fun fibers. This card is one I needed for someone's anniversary later this month. I'll show other cards throughout the week that I created Sunday, too.

Macy pages & A Mailbox Surprise

Ok, here are the 7x7 pages I did a few years ago on Macy. I have one of the older style CM albums that are 7x7 so that's why her pages are that odd size. I also sometimes do more recent pages about her in 12x12.

Smart. Special. Happy. Adorable. Yes, she is all of the above to me!!! :)

Click to see the journaling up close. LOL OH...and the TONGUE! We don't give her a lot of people food, but she likes all she's tried...except lemons and nectarines. "Eww, mom!" I know you've seen a human wrinkle up his/her nose when something doesn't taste good, but have you ever seen an Eskie do it? It's hilarious! Please note, too, that we don't give her any of the "harmful to dogs" foods by any means. She gets top of the line dog food, lite dog treats, baby carrots and the occasional small bite of safe people food. She's worth it! She's our baby, you know. We want her around as long as possible.

Ok, having an American Eskimo dog means two things. Fur and more fur! LOL She gets brushed quite often, even more during her major shedding times. I can fill a Wal-Mart bag full when she is shedding her winter coat to summer and vice versa. I love doing it outside so I can flip it all around in the air! I can't believe she hasn't gone bald with as many times as she has been brushed. I think for each hair I brush off, eighteen replace it! Seriously. Bottom line...I'd rather have this dog and all this fur to deal with than no Macy kid. Period. She is so totally worth it. Plus, dog owners look so cute with fur on their furniture, clothes and in their vehicles, right?! LOL Oh, to mimic her furballs, I glued on tiny pom-poms around the sentiment. Goofy me, I know.

Ok, I have to share my mailbox surprise from Connie. Some lick-a-licious ribbon and this very pretty card. Go ahead...lick your monitor screen. I know you want to. I'll look away.

Not sure when I'll post another fun mojo-ish creation. My allergies are wacked and I'm feeling run down. I never had allergies until I moved to Ohio and I do NOT like them! Wednesday Afternoon Antics

I enjoy my Wednesday afternoons off. Yes, I know I've said that for the last month! LOL Yesterday afternoon I gave Macy kid a bath. The bath routine for this pooch is quite typical each time. I say "Come on, let's go get your bath." The dog sits down and I take off her collar. I say "Come on, kid...get in here." The dog looks away. I finally use my "get excited" voice and say "Come on, Macy. Let's get your bath. You're such a pretty baby!". She looks quite depressed by this point and slowly walks to the door of the bathroom...but not a step further. I then go back to the running water, swish in some doggy shampoo and try again. By then, she's really looking half frightened and quite certain she won't win the bath battle...again. LOL She is a good dog. Don't get me wrong. This dog finally walks into the bathroom and glues her butt to the floor as I try to pick her up. I swear she has extra "uh oh I'm not taking a bath" muscles that she uses at this time. During the whole splash, shampoo, rinse and squeeze process, she has a look on her face that says "Mom, I know you hate me." LOL Once I give her the cue, she puts her front paws on the side of the tub as I get the first 18 gallons of water off her fur. I then pick her up, set her on the double layer of towels on the floor and she does her version of Elvis' pelvic thrust and shake...about SIX TIMES! The walls get wet. I get wet. The towels get wet and I just giggle with delight. She is just one of the many joys of my life. hee hee

Then, I open the door!!!!!!!!!!!! Sha-zammmmmmmm...she's off like lightening! She literally runs room to room with such glee it's hilarious. "I'm free! I'm free! Yes, I am free!" *pant pant pant*

She then pounces on the towel I have in the hallway. OH, but she doesn't stay long....sha-zammmmmmmmmm...she's off and running!

She rolls and rubs in "her" chair and gives me the "why on earth do I have to get baths, Mom?" look. LOL
I used to get so bent out of shape when she did this. I mean, gosh...I don't want MORE fur on the fur-niture! Then, I quickly got over my anal retentiveness about this and just giggled and giggled. She is quite a character. She finally goes back to the towel in the hall and I dry her with the hair dryer while brushing all the loose hair out. See, our bathroom is the size of a postage stamp. I used to "trap" her in there for drying time, but we were both so hot by the time I was done that I had to change the routine. Now, it's run-run-run then dry on the towel. Except for.....

....when she has truly had enough she walks into the living room, sniffs a bit, lays down and then turns to look at me. "Ha! See, mom....can't keep me on the towel! I've had ENOUGH!" LOL

Oh, but remember I am the boss! Yes, she does come back to the towel. She walks away about five more times and finally I say "Ok, enough." By then, she's so happily exhausted. She'd never admit it though. You should have heard the tales she told daddy when he got home. (ex: mom tried to drown me, she threw me in the tub, etc.) Ah....hog wash! I mean dog wash! LOL

She is so very relieved that the wet doggy towels are all washed and put away again. She always knows when the special towels come out it's bad news. *snicker*

Her favorite part of this whole process is getting her collar back on after she's had hours to finish air drying. It's as if she feels "fully dressed" when I put it on. How do I know? She tells me with her happy dance.

Just a little laugh for today. I'll have some fun Macy pages to show the next few days since I know you all just can't get enough of her. LOL They are from a few years ago. I found them when I was sorting pages that needed to be put in albums. I finally got my STACK of pages from 2006-2008 in albums/page protectors. About time, huh?

KWerner Color Inspiration Challenge #21

I visit Kristina's blog daily and am always intrigued and inspired by something on there! She is fabulous! I decided to try her color inspiration challenge today and this is my creation. Click for a closer look. The Kiwi Kiss cardstock is stamped with Versamark using the Papertrey Ink set Guide Lines. I wanted something subtle on the background that complimented the dry embossed design on the white cardstock. I also cut a very thin piece off of the card front so the Rose Red piece would peek out.

Happy July 4th

I took these pics in the natural light in my living room. They actually look a bit "baby blue". Geesh! You'll get the idea...just click for a closer look.

Mom gave me this neat lined paper. I adhered it to a sheet of textured Night of Navy. I decided on a whim to adhere the fireworks pics at an angle for something different. I still love that one on the bottom right. It looks like a red heart in the center. Neat!

Connie had shared these clear stars. I glued them on using yellow Stickles, then added a bling stone to each center. A nice lady at the scrapbook store crop shared this piece of textured yellow cardstock. Thank you to that nice lady...don't know her name. :)

I covered the chipboard star with some SU! patterned paper, then sanded the edges. I added some yellow Thickers and polka-dotted them with my trusty white Sharpie.

I was just feeling random so I picked a random song to share. Listen HERE. I'll be running up to the stage when I see this little country cutie in just a few weeks. Makes me sweat thinkin' about it. LOL Mmm Mmm Good! *blushes*

Well, on Sunday I managed to make a complete mess of my craft area before putting it all back together in a different fashion. I have to do that every now and then. LOL Now I'm in the mood to purge more SU! retired stamps that I don't use. I figure if I sell some I can place an order for my Christmas card supplies in October. Right?

On Monday, we are heading to mom and dad's for a cookout. Yum! Then, Tuesday it is back to work...back to reality. I'll have to figure out what to post next. I'll be in touch soon. :) Thanks for stopping by...
